Description

The University of Almeria, one of the youngest (1993) and most dynamic universities in Spain, counts with more than 14.000 students, of which 600 PhD students.
In addition to the research work of the departments, the UAL has 7 research institutes focused on Agrifood, Global Change, Migrations, Solar Energy, Neuroscience, Big Data, and Intensive Mediterranean Agrosystems topics.
UAL is the coordinator of the UNIgreen European Alliance (The Green European University). UNIgreen is committed to promoting excellence in education, research and innovation in the fields of Sustainable Agriculture, Green Biotechnology, and Environmental and Life Sciences.
Role :
The UAL research team will be responsible for installing and managing the erosion monitoring node for Spain. The complete Node Network, representing erosion hotspots in Europe and key agricultural areas, will cover six pedoclimatic systems and 14 agricultural systems and will serve to generate real-time erosion data and validate the erosion models developed within the project. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with local stakeholders, European policymakers, and the Joint Research Centre (JRC).
